With the advent of new powers and functions at district municipal level, the Zululand District Municipality was in need of a new corporate head office in Ulundi. ZAI was appointed to handle the civil and structural aspects of the project. Key features included conventional reinforced concrete design combined with pre-stressed, post tensioned flat slabs, concrete block paving to roads, a storm water detention pond and fire/domestic ring mains linked to an automated, emergency water supply from a borehole which was also combined with irrigation options.
